A device designed to open if it detects excess temperature or pressure. Can be found on hot water heaters.
A device designed to open if it detects excess temperature or pressure. Commonly found on water heating or steam producing systems.
(Safety Relief Valve) - An automatic pressure relieving device actuated by the pressure upstream of the valve and characterized by opening pop action with further increase in lift with an increase in pressure over popping pressure.
A device which vents refrigerant when the pressure in a chiller becomes dangerously high. Newer relief valves have a resealing mechanism so that when the pressure of the chiller returns to a normal level they reseal and prevent further refrigerant loss.
A valve designed to open and release liquids at a certain pressure.
a valve in a container in which pressure can build up (as a steam boiler); it opens automatically when the pressure reaches a dangerous level
a valve designed to provide protection from over-pressure in steam, gas, air and liquid lines
Over-pressure protection device designed to exhaust excess natural gas pressure to atmosphere and prevent piping from operating above the MAOP.
A safety device designed to release pressure if it exceeds a preset level.
A valve that when open allows for the release of excess pressure or temperature.
A pressure-controlled device which bypasses water at a fire pump to prevent excessive pressures when a nozzle is shut down.
A spring loaded pressure relief valve actuated by the static pressure upstream of the valve. The valve opens normally in proportion to the pressure increase over the opening pressure. ( 557)
See Pressure Relief Valve.
A safety device that automatically releases water due to an excessive buildup of pressure and temperature; used on a water heater.
A valve that operates at the preset pressure to allow the escape of fluids.
A type of pressure relief device which is designed to relieve excessive pressure, and to reclose and reseal to prevent further flow of gas from the cylinder after reseating pressure has been achieved.
Pressure relief mechanism that automatically releases liquids from pressure vessels when vessel pressure exceeds set pressure, and closes when the pressure level returns to normal.
A mechanism attached to different pneumatic conveyor components that alleviates built up pressure created by the system.
A device designed to open if it detects excess temperature or pressure. Remote Remote electrical, gas, or water meter digital readouts that are installed near the front of the home in order for utility companies to easily read the home owners usage of the service.
A valve that opens to relieve excess temperature.
A valve that is set to open at a certain pressure level to prevent the pressure in a container or system from reaching unsafe levels.
A spring-loaded device used to bypass water in a pump when pressures exceed preset operating pressures; designed to eliminate hazardous conditions resulting from excessive pressures by allowing this pressure to bypass to the intake side of the pump.
A device designed to open if it senses excess temperature or pressure. Home Improvement Encyclopedia
The relief valve is a type of valve used to control or limit the pressure in a system or vessel which can build up by a process upset, instrument or equipment failure, or fire. The pressure is relieved by allowing the pressurised fluid to flow from an auxiliary passage out of the system. The relief valve is designed or set to open at a predetermined pressure to protect pressure vessels and other equipment from being subjected to pressures that exceed their design limits.
