A notice sent to a reader requesting the return of a book or other item, which is overdue or required for use by someone else. See also overdue notice.

If you receive such a notice you must return the material to the library immediately, even if it is not yet due.

If a user requests a book which is issued to someone else, library staff will request that the borrower return the material, whether finished with it or not. This procedure helps to share library materials among all users.
