Pending Trouble Code Positive temperature coefficient Additional : This is applied to the way the resistance of a thermistor varies with temperature. In this case, the resistance will increase as the temperature is raised

Positive Temperature Coefficient. A thermally reactive device which becomes highly resistive at a specific temperature or current.
Production Tax Credit. Provides the owner of a qualifying facility with an annual tax credit based on the amount of electricity that is generated. By focusing on the energy produced instead of capital invested, this type of tax incentive encourages projects that perform adequately. The current rate for the PTC is 1.9 cents/kWh.
PRODUCTION TAX CREDIT. The PTC is a federal incentive program that is designed to help level the playing field of energy production where other forms of energy are subsidized. Positive train controls. The application of digital data communications, automatic positioning systems, wayside interface units (to communicate with switches and wayside detectors), on-board and control center computers, and other advanced display, sensor, and control technologies to manage and control railroad operations. PTC can help reduce the probability of collisions between trains, collisions between trains and maintenance-of-way crews, and overspeed accidents. PTC systems can also improve the efficiency of railroad operations by reducing some train over-the-road delays, increasing running time reliability, increasing track capacity, and improving asset utilization.
Psychophysical tuning curve. A curve showing the level of narrow-band masker needed to mask a fixed sinusoidal signal; plotted as a function of masker frequency
Passive Thermal Control. A technique for controlling the radiant heating of a spacecraft by slowly rotating it so that the sun does not always shine on the same side. Also informally called a "barbecue roll".
Pedestrian Traffic Control. The term refers to the use of uniformed law enforcement officers to stop and to hold pedestrian traffic on a sidewalk or walkway in one or both directions for a period of time, generally not to exceed three minutes.
