Clinical research conducted into the use of psychedelics during the 1960s and 1970s indicated a possibility that the use of these drugs sometimes enhanced "psi" abilities, as claimed by tribal "medicine men" and "shamans", who ritualistically employed these drugs in native or aboriginal religious rites.
