Definitions for "Primeur"
refers to early fresh fruits and vegetables, also to new wine.
This has two meanings. It is applied firstly to easy young wines released for drinking soon after the vintage. It is also the name of the marketing system for "wine futures" – wines from famous properties sold even before they are bottled. Wines sold "en primeur" are still in barrels when consumers buy them. Consumers are assured of buying at the best price, have their wines delivered to them about two years later. Through WINE and CO, you can buy en primeur wines from all over France.
