This term describes the dusting of powdered charcoal through perforations made on a full-scale drawing or cartoon. The fine charcoal goes through the perforations, efficiently making an accurate transfer of the cartoon onto the surface of a fresh intonaco. Spovero (dusting-off) is the Italian word for this process.
