Poindexter were a rock band from Preston, Lancashire and were formed in by Mike Johnson, Alex Moretti and Paul Carter during their college days. They released one album in 1999 namely, "The Colour of Your Money". None of the bands songs entered the charts although they had a large local following in Preston and surrounding areas.

Poindexter is a character in the fictional Felix the Cat universe. He is the young nephew of the Professor, the arch-nemesis of Felix. Poindexter is depicted as a stereotypical scientist; he is very intelligent and always wears thick glasses, a lab coat, and a mortarboard.

An RFID tag, or any other electronic device that can be used to track a person's whereabouts or movements, such as an EZ-Pass tag, one of those Mobil auto-pay key fobs, an On Star system, or even modern GPS equipped cell phones. This term was coined by unbob, named for the noted felon and former Admiral Poindexter, who proposed the "Total Information Awareness" program to build databases of what everyone in the country are doing.
