On flat-panel displays it's the pixel pitch that determines how many dots can be displayed on the screen. The lower the pixel pitch, the more dots will be used to build up an image.
The distance between the center of a phosphor dot of a given color and the center of the next nearest dot of the same color.
A measurement of distance between pixels on the screen, measured in millimeters (mm). A smaller pixel pitch means sharper images.
