The location on a molded product between different segments of the mold used to produce the product.
On a finished part, this line shows where the two mold halves met when they were closed.
Demarcation or mark where two-part molds join.
A mark left on a die casting where the die halves meet; also, the mating surface of the cover and ejector portions of the die.
is a thin ridge of material on a plastic or glass part that is a witness to where the two halves of the mold that produced the part come together.
The line formed by the mating surfaces of the molded part.
Mark on a molding or casting where halves of mould met in closing.
A mark on a molding or casting where the halves of mold meet in closing.
The slight horizontal ridge formed by a surplus of glass blown into a worn crevice or joint between two parts of the mold equipment. These lines may occur on various areas of the container, such as between the neck ring and the plunger tip or guide ring, between the neck ring and blank or mold, and between the mold and bottom plate. The vertical line formed by the joint between two halves of the same mold part is called a "seam".
the point at which separate plates of a mold abut each other; also the visible mark on the molded part from that joint
the plane that divides the two die halves used in forging; also applies to the resulting forging and impression dies.
A continuous mark on a pultruded piece where the sections of a mold have met in closing. Tight mold tolerances can minimize this objectionable mark.
The linear mark on a compact where two separate tool or die pieces mated during shaping. In injection molding it is where the two halves of the die joined together.
The line showing the separation of the two halves of the mold.
a line on a moulding indicating where the halves of a mould close together
The location where the pieces of a mold come together. Typically a thin line is created on the part here.
A line on a pattern or casting corresponding to the separation between the cope and drag portions of a sand mold. The joint where mold separates to permit removal of pattern. See Casting, Cope, Drag, Mold, Pattern.
