Definitions for "Particle-Size Distribution"
The amounts of the various soil size fractions in a soil sample, usually expressed as weight percentage.
The percentage by weight, or by number, of each fraction into which a powder sample has been classified with respect to sieve number or microns. (Preferred usage: "Particle-size distribution by weight" or "particle-size distribution by frequency.")
Particle distribution of granular materials among various sizes; for concrete material normally designated as gradation. Usually expressed in terms of cumulative percentages smaller or larger than each of a series of sieve openings or percentages between certain ranges of sieve openings.
