Data Guard An Oracle high availability product that provides a backup database on ready standby status. This product was formerly called Standby Database.
Advanced Replication A feature in Oracle9 that enables database tables to be kept synchronized across two Oracle databases.
JVM Provides support for Java stored procedures, JDBC, SQLJ, Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA), and Enterprise JavaBeans (EJBs) in the Oracle database. packet A block of information sent over the network each time a connection or data transfer is requested. The information contained in packets depends on the type of packet: connect, accept, redirect, data, and so on. Packet information can be useful in troubleshooting.
JVM Oracle's scalable Java server platform, composed of the Java virtual machine running within the Oracle9 database server, the Java runtime environment and Oracle extensions, including the ORB and Enterprise JavaBeans implementation.
FS The Oracle file system and Java-based development environment that either runs inside the database or on a middle tier and provides a means of creating, storing, and managing multiple types of documents in a single database repository.
