Definitions for "Optomux"
A serial (RS-422/485) network protocol allowing up to 4,096 I/O points to be connected to a computer. The Optomux protocol was originally developed by Opto 22 in 1982, was openly documented, and became an industry standard. Optomux is used with E1, E2, B1, B2, and B3000 brains. On E1 and E2 brain boards, the Optomux protocol can run either over serial or over an Ethernet network. The Optomux protocol and driver are documented in the Optomux Protocol Guide.
