Definitions for "Option Cycle"
The time from when an option contract is created by a writer of that option to the expiration date; sometimes referred to as an option's "lifetime".
The cycle of option expiration months. The most common cycles are: January, April, July, and October (JAJO); February, May, August, and November (FMAN); and March, June, September, and December (MJSD).
A set pattern of months when a class of options expires.
