Definitions for "NEUTRAL STEER"
Steering characteristics in which the slip angles generated at the front and rear are identical. When such a car exceeds the limit of adhesion, the front and rear tires break loose at the same time and the car slides sideways. While this might seem to be the ideal state of balance, in reality a car with mild understeering tendancies is more stable to drive and less "nervous" than one with neutral steering characteristics.
The characteristic of a vehicle's slip angles where both front and rear are the same. In slippery conditions, both the front and rear tires will break loose at the same time so that the vehicle slides sideways rather than the rear end swinging around ( oversteer) or the front end wanting to move to the rear ( understeer). A cornering condition in which the front and rear slip angles are roughly the same. Although seemingly an ideal state of balance, perfect neutral steer is not as stable as slight understeer.
It projects a cornering condition in which the rear and front slip angles are almost the same.
