Before you can take advantage of any network services, you must subscribe to them through your service provider and obtain instructions for their use from your service provider. Software application products that can be used to access data, initiate processes, and exchange information among nodes in the network. The NS 3000/iX Network Services include RPM, VT, RFA, RDBA, and NFT.
Network Services are specified sets of information transfer capabilities furnished to users between telecommunications network points of termination. Network services categories include access and transport, public and private, and switched and non-switched.
Network Services are services that can only be technically and economically provided by those who build their own telecommunications network infrastructure. BT Network Services (including the elements of these services which are necessarily incidental to the provision of them, like billing customers for the provision of the service) are provided from its Systems Business, whereas Enhanced Services are provided from the Supplemental Services Business. It should be recognised that, notwithstanding the juxtaposition with Enhanced Services, Network Service does not necessarily mean 'simple,' or 'plain old telephone services (POTS).' Network Services may be extremely complex.
Telecommunications services provided by local exchange carriers and long-distance carriers on their own lines and equipment.
Telecommunications services above and beyond telephone services, such as monitoring of remote sites and equipment for corporations, or transmitting machinery malfunction alerts, burglar alarms, etc.
Services which are not provided on the local computer system the end-user is working on but on a server located in the network.
