Management and Planning Unit (in ICD)

Math processor unit. A portion of the CPU that performs mathematical operations.

This term is commonly used to describe the CPU (Central Processing Unit.) More specifically, it refers to the part of the CPU that actually does the work, since many CPUs now contain L1 and L2 caches on-chip.
