Definitions for "Monoclonal protein"
An abnormal protein produced by myeloma cells that accumulates in and damages bone and bone marrow. A high level of M protein indicates that myeloma cells are present in large numbers.
Identical immunoglobulin protein produced by myeloma cells. M protein is found in the blood or urine and is used as a marker for the amount of myeloma disease present in the body.
Also called M-protein or abnormal protein. This is a dysfunctional antibody made by the myeloma cell. The amount of M-protein can be measured in the blood to evaluate response to treatments.
