A failure of the priming mixture to be initiated after the primer has been struck an adequate blow by a firing-pin or the failure of the initiated primer to ignite the powder.
A charge, or part of a charge, which has failed to fire as planned. All misfires are to be considered extremely dangerous until the cause of the misfire has been determined.
A firework that goes off, but incorrectly. Rare.
an explosion that fails to occur
a failure to hit (or meet or find etc)
fail to fire or detonate; "The guns misfired"
a complete failure to fire caused by a procedural or mechanical failure
a failure of the cartridge to fire after the firing pin strikes the primer
The complete or partial failure of a blasting charge to explode as planned.
The failure of a cartridge to fire after the firing pin hits the primer.
Condition occurring when the fuel mixture in a cylinder fails to ignite, causing the engine to run roughly.
Complete failure of a cartridge to fire after the primer is struck by the firing pin.
When a firework fails to ignite properly.
The failure of the fuel charge in one or more engine cylinders to fire or ignite at the proper time. It can be due to poor compression caused by worn or improperly adjusted valves, worn piston rings, a faulty head gasket, or in the case of a two-stroke engine leaking crank seals. It can also be caused by poor ignition due to worn or dirty spark plug electrodes, worn or improperly gapped points or spark plugs, poor fuel delivery, faulty ignition wiring, or faulty distributor components.
A charge or part of a charge which, on initiation, failed to completely detonate or function, a dangerous condition.
