A thousandth part of a second. Abbreviated msec.
an eternity to modern processors
The basic unit of time in pacing. One millisecond equals one thousandth of a second. Most pacemaker timing functions, e.g., pulse width and timing intervals, are expressed in milliseconds as are stimulation and coupling cycles during electrophysiologic testing. Abbreviated ms.
A unit of time equivalent to 0.001 seconds.

One thousandth of a second (msec) or 0.001 s.
One thousandth of a second (.001 sec.).
The speed at which Hard Disk access is timed, 1 millisecond being 1 thousandth of a second. A fully redundant or shadow copy of data. Mirror sets provide an identical twin for a selected disk; all data written to the primary disk is also written to the shadow or mirror disk. This enables you to have instant access to another disk with a redundant copy of the information on a failed disk. Mirror sets provide fault tolerance. See also fault tolerance.
One-thousandth of a second. mode - (1) The most common or frequent value in a frequency distribution. (2) A particular form or variety of software.
A unit of time equal to one thousandth of a second. Abbreviated ms.
One thousandth of a second. 1 millisecond = 0.001 second or 1000 microseconds.
This is one thousandth of a second. Usually used to measure the access speed of hard drives.
1/1,000 (one-thousandth) of a second. Hard disks are rated in milliseconds. Modern laptop hard disks have drives of 20 to 40 milliseconds, meaning they can find the average piece of data in 1/25 to 1/50 of a second. Older hard disks were about 100 milliseconds. Higher numbers mean slower performance.
A millisecond is one-thousandth of a second. The term is most commonly used to measure data access speeds, such as the amount of time it takes to retrieve data from a hard disk, a CD-ROM drive, or a floppy drive. Milliseconds are sometimes confused with mbps (megabits per second), which describe data transmission speeds.
