Merlyn is a fictional character in the DC Comics universe. He is an archer created by writer Mike Friedrich, artist Dick Dillin and inker Neal Adams as a villain to fight the hero Green Arrow, and he first appeared in Justice League of America #94 (1971).

Merlyn is a fictional character in the Marvel Comics universe. He claims to be the Merlin of British Legends (see Notes) and has served for many years as the Omniversal Guardian, a function his daughter Roma now fulfills. He first appeared in Captain Britain #1 (1976), though the legendary Merlin, who might be one and the same, first appeared in Strange Tales #134.
