Definitions for "Master station"
Unit having control of all other terminals on a multipoint circuit for purposes of polling and/or selection.
A telecommunications station that controls all other stations within a network.
The entire complement of devices, functional modules, and assemblies that are electrically interconnected to affect the master station supervisory functions. The equipment includes the interface with the communications channel, but does not include the interconnecting channel. During communications with one or more of the remote stations, the master station is the superior in the communications hierarchy.
