A national demonstration project of neighborhood revitalization that centered on developing self-sufficiency and responsibility in residents of targeted neighborhoods in order to seed further development of grassroots leadership for their communities. The NeighborWorks® program, begun in 1994, was modeled on the criteria of the HOPE 6 program.
