Sir John Sparrow David Thompson, KCMG, PC, QC, (November 10, 1845 – December 12, 1894) was a Canadian lawyer and judge who served as the fourth Prime Minister of Canada from December 5, 1892 to December 12, 1894 as well as Premier of Nova Scotia in 1882.
John Thompson, Jr. (born September 2 1941, Washington, D.C.) is a former basketball coach for the Georgetown University Hoyas. He is now a professional radio and TV sports commentator. In 1984, he became the first African-American head coach to win the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship when Georgetown defeated the University of Houston, 84-75.
