The International Skating Union (ISU) is the international governing body for the sport of figure skating. National organizations are members of the ISU which was founded in 1892. In the United States, amateur figure skating is governed by the United States Figure Skating Association (USFSA) and in Canada, the controlling organization is the Canadian Figure Skating Association (CFSA). Both the USFSA and the CFSA are members of their national Olympic Committees.

International Salvage Union. An association representing the interests of companies that are engaged in marine casualty response, pollution defence, wreck removal, cargo recovery, towage and related activities.

Image Storage Unit. The online storage can be referred to as the "image storage unit" in a PACS. Copies of all the images of the in-patients, hospitalised patients, or patients attending clinics are held in this form of storage. The images can be removed from the ISU when no longer required online. However they will always be available from the nearline or offline archive.
