Definitions for "IRF"
A filter assigned to each NDS object, file, or directory that specifies which rights can be inherited from a parent container or directory. By default, the IRF for an object, file, or directory allows all rights to be inherited. You can change the IRF, however, to revoke one or more rights. Any rights that are revoked from the IRF cannot be inherited. The IRF does not affect any explicitly granted rights for that object, file, or directory, however. The IRF affects only inherited rights.
Inherited Rights Filter. A filter that is part of every directory, file, and object, controlling which rights a trustee can inherit from parent directories and container objects.
