the treatment of the opening by the Hypermodern school, a description given them by Tartakower; I wrote a little booklet on their treatment of the opening.
Refers to very recent publications. Often used in describing a modern, collectible first edition.
A recently published book that is collected, even though the author may be relatively unknown or as yet, proven. People who collect hypermoderns are essentially speculating on the future value of an author's work.
Collected first editions published within last ten years or so. Most were published so recently that there is no track record on author or book.
A style of play which claims that indirect or long distance control of the center is more effective than direct occupation. Compare to ' classical'.
