A huarache (plural: huaraches) is a traditional type of sandal-like footwear common throughout Mexico and much of Latin America. Traditionally, a huarche is a woven, leather sandal with a recycled tire tread sole. It can be somewhat difficult to characterize a huarache as they range from sandal or flip flop like designs up to versions that resemble shoes, some even with laces.
