a computer simulation-based method for assessing a home's estimated energy use under standard conditions (similar to a miles-per-gallon rating for a car) and its potential for improvement
a computer simulation-based method for assessing a home's existing energy efficiency and its potential for improvement
(home energy rating scheme) – a rating scheme developed in the United States to provide a standardised assessment of the energy efficiency and expected energy costs for a house. A HERS-type rating scheme is being investigated by the New Zealand Energy Commission and the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA).
Home Energy Rating Systems. A nationally recognized energy rating program that gives builders, mortgage lenders, secondary lending markets, homeowners, sellers, and buyers a precise evaluation of energy losing deficiency's in homes. Builders can use this system to gauge the energy quality in their home and also to have a star rating on their home to compare to other similarly built homes.
Home Energy Rating System. A standardized system for rating the energy efficiency of residential buildings. (See HERS score)
