Definitions for "Hemophilia A"
A disease that effects the normal process of blood coagulation. Patients with hemophilia A are prone to spontaneous, uncontrolled internal bleeding that oftentimes leads to restricted mobility, pain and, if left untreated, death. Hemophilia A is caused by the absence or severe deficiency of Factor VIII, a protein involved in the blood coagulation pathway.
