ospital mergency dministrative adio. Statewide radio channels designated for ambulance to hospital communications. HEAR frequencies are used by BLS ambulance crews to give medical reports to the receiving hospital during transport. The primary statewide HEAR frequency is 155.340 MHz, with 155.175 being secondary. Counties bordering Monroe County use 155.175 as the primary due to the heavy traffic from Rochester (and Buffalo) hospitals. 155.400 is designated as a statewide secondary HEAR channel, but is not in apparent use in the Finger Lakes Region. This is probably due to the fact that "400" is a police frequency in the Province of Ontario and EMS use would cause harmful interference. Central New York HEAR systems can be found on 155.355 MHz. EMS radio channels are often referred to by the three digits after the decimal point. They are all in the 155 MHz range, so the frequency called "295" is actually 155.295 MHz. (see Telemetry)
