Definitions for "Good Till Canceled"
A trading order that remains in force until the trader cancels it.
When placing a limit order, you can indicate how long the open order lasts before it expires. Some investors price limit orders far from the current market price, anticipating a future price movement that will eventually fill the order. Good till canceled (or GTC) orders stay open indefinitely until the order is filled, or until manually canceled by the investor.
