Godhead is an industrial rock band that originated in the Washington D.C.-area in the 1990s. They are known as the first and only band signed on to Marilyn Manson's short-lived vanity label, Posthuman, in 2001. It produced their breakout album, 2000 Years of Human Error, that earned them recognition by Ozzy Osbourne and landed them a spot on Ozzfest in the same year on the second stage.
Godhead was Lowlife's third album, released in 1989 in Scotland on Nightshift Records, an independent music record label. The LP had been recorded at Pet Sounds Studios in Glasgow, Scotland. Prior to the recording of the album, original guitarist Stuart Everest had been asked to leave the group by the other bandmembers, and was replaced by Hamish McIntosh.
