Farnesyl transferase inhibitor. Drug that inhibits farnesyl transferase, an enzyme involved in a signaling pathway that causes cancer cells to grow.
Farnesyl Transferase Inhibitors
Farnesyl transferase inhibitor. Not to be confused with STI. FTI is an experimental drug that that inhibits a cancer-causing gene known as ras, which causes cancer by producing a growth-stimulating protein that signals uncontrolled cell division. FTIs are being studied in CML and other cancers.
