Foreign travel to countries such as France, Spain and Italy were slowly becoming popular and with the arrival of cheaper, air-flight package holidays in the early 1960s, foreign travel became a reality for more people than ever before.
Foreign travel is defined as travel outside the 50 states, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.
