An Erudite is a variant of a psion from the game Dungeons and Dragons. It was introduced as a new base class in Dragon 319 and rewritten as a variant of the psion base class in Complete Psionic. Erudites are almost identical to psions, as they both possess the ability to manifest psychic powers, but while the psion has a limited repertoire of powers that can only be expanding by gaining levels and feats, the erudite can learn a potentially unlimited number of powers by "copying" them from the minds of others or from psionically-empowered items, somewhat like how a wizard learns by copying new spells to his spellbook.
