Definitions for "EPER"
European Pollutant Emissions Register: established by the EU Commission in 2000. Member States must produce a triennial report on the emissions of industrial facilities to air and water. Early 2005, the European Parliament Environment Committee endorsed the new European Pollutants Releases and Transfer Register (PRTR), which will replace EPER from 2009.
European Pollutant Emission Register. Based on a Commission Decision of 17 July 2000 (2000/479/EC) on the implementation of a European Pollutant Emission Register (EPER) according to Article 15 of Council Directive 96/61/EC concerning integrated pollution prevention and control (IPPC). Article 15(3) of IPPC-Directive requires Member States to inventory and supply data on principal emissions and responsible sources. The Commission will publish the results of the inventory every three years and shall establish the formats and particulars for the transmission of information provided by the Member States.
