Definitions for "Effective temperature"
The fixed temperature where the effects of humidity and air movement will produce (secondary damages) saturated air.
The temperature of a star's outermost layer, the photosphere. Temperatures vary throughout a star, from millions of degrees in the core to thousands of degrees in the outer stellar atmosphere. Astronomers measure the temperature of the photosphere, and combine that with other information to calculate the core temperature.
The uniform temperature of a radiantly black enclosure at 50% relative humidity, in which an occupant would experience the same comfort, physiological strain and heat exchange as in the actual environment with the same air motion.
