Dry skin is thin, dull, rough and more or less chapped and flaky. It is fragile, irritable and lacks suppleness and elasticity. It can be caused by two phenomena, which most often accumulate; firstly the moisture content in the stratum corneum (normally 13%, the critical threshold is estimated at 10%), and secondly sebaceous secretions may be insufficient.
