a tube that comes in two types--perforated and non-perforated
A tube or cylinder that is normally installed around the exterior perimeter of the foundation footings that collects and directs ground water away from the foundation of the house. The tile can be individual sections of clay or asphalt tubing or, in more recent construction, a perforated plastic drain-tile that is approximately 4 inches in diameter. The drain tile leads either towards a sump or to an exterior discharge away from the house. Learn more about surface water control.
A perforated, corrugated plastic pipe laid at the bottom of the foundation wall and used to drain excess water away from the foundation. It prevents ground water from seeping through the foundation wall. Sometimes called perimeter drain.
A plastic perforated pipe running the perimeter of the footing and terminating in the storm sump or drain pit.
An underground drainage system used to carry off excess water at foundation footings.
Short-Length section of burned clay, plastic, or concrete pipe laid with open joints and surrounded with aggregate and covered with asphaltic paper or straw to drain water from an area.
Pipe shaped clay tiles, which are installed in a below-grade trench for gravity-rated drainage. PVC piping is often used in place of clay tile for drainage.
Underground clay or synthetic pipes or tiles used to carry water from areas that need to remain dry, such as foundation walls.
