Doncaster is a town in the English county of South Yorkshire, and the principal settlement of the Metropolitan Borough of Doncaster in South Yorkshire. The town is located approximately 20 miles from Sheffield and is popularly referred to by some of its residents as Donny.
Doncaster was a Parliamentary constituency covering the town of Doncaster in England. The constituency was created in 1885 and abolished in 1983.
Doncaster Prison was opened in 1994. It has a capacity of 1,120 inmates (as of August 12, 2005), and is located in Doncaster, England. Its operation is contracted out to Premier Prison Services Ltd.
