Technology proposal by Internet service provider Yahoo! designed to give e-mail providers a mechanism for verifying both the domain of each e-mail sender and the integrity of the messages sent; once the domain can be verified, it can be compared to the domain used by the sender in the "from" field of the message to detect forgeries and help ward off spoofers and phishers.
Email-authentication system proposed by Yahoo! that requires each message to be “signed” cryptographically. This would make messages impossible to spoof and prove that they came from the purported sending domain.
An anti-spam software application being developed by Yahoo and using a combination of public and private "keys" to authenticate the sender's domain and reduce the chance that a spammer or hacker will fake the domain sending address.
