Definitions for "Diskless"
A workstation without local file systems or local boot images that accesses some of its resources remotely. Diskless clients boot remotely from a diskless server and use the server for remote paging.
Not containing a hard disk. A Diskless Workstation is a terminal upon which no database files reside, and that is linked to the server of an establishments computer network. It accomplishes transactions by communicating back and forth with the server.NOTE: While a Diskless Workstation must always be a client in a client/server atmosphere, a client in a client/server atmosphere need not always be diskless.
