Definitions for "Degausser"
A device that produces a strong alternating electromagnetic field which quickly erases an entire reel, cassette or cartridge of tape. Also used for eliminating ghosting in television monitors by demagnetizing the CRT.
An electrical device that's used to de-magnetize the tape heads and transport system of a tape deck or similar reel-to-reel recorder. Over time and use, tape heads become magnetized and slowly erase the high frequency sounds off any tape played on it.
