Debut, released in July of 1993, is an album by Icelandic singer/songwriter/musician Björk. It was her first solo project after leaving The Sugarcubes, but far from her actual debut, which was released in 1977. The record was produced by Nellee Hooper and established Björk's audience outside of Iceland and cult followings in the UK, US and elsewhere.
Debut is an album of 7 conceptual tracks by the members of the fifth incarnation of netlabel Hellven. The collective having been dormant for years, this was the first release from Hellven under their most recent lineup of artists and its expansion outside of demoscene music. The album's catalog number is HLV00. "convalescence" was completed by Xavier Dang minutes before the album was set to be released.
