A logical connection between an application and a relational database.
The connection between a Microsoft Office InfoPath 2003 form and an external data source, such as a database, Web service, Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services library, or Extensible Markup Language (XML) file. Data connections are used to query and submit data from a form.
FTP connections can be opened up in one of two modes: the ASCII mode or the binary mode. The ASCII mode is used for sending text files and alters things such as line feed and carriage return. The binary mode is used for sending binary files and lets files through untouched.
refers to the connections opened in FTP to transfer files or listings. The connections can be opened from Interarchy to the server ( Passive Mode) or from the server to Interarchy ( Port Mode). Data can be transferred in either direction irrespective of the direction of connection. One data connection has to be opened for each file or listing transferred. For more information, see the FTP section.
A connection that specifies the name, type, location, and optional information for a database file.
A full duplex connection over which data is transferred, in a specified mode and type. The data transferred may be a part of a file, an entire file or a number of files. The path may be between a server-DTP and a user-DTP, or between two server-DTPs.
