Creditors' Voluntary Liquidation. The winding up of an insolvent company where the process is started by the directors. The resolution to wind up is passed by the shareholders, but the liquidation is under the effective control of creditors, who can vote upon the appointment of the liquidator.

The term "Value" in CVL is primarily used in connection with XML programming, where is interchangeable with "Code". For records-management environments, the term "Vocabulary" is typically used.
