Evidence which supports or confirms the truth of an allegation.
Evidence that tends to strengthen that already given. See also Evidence.
Independent evidence that tends to support or confirm other evidence. For example, a defendant's confession to shooting his boss is corroborated by the whiteness who saw him do it.
Independent evidence which supports the main evidence.
Evidence which supports evidence that has been previously given.
Evidence supplementary to that already given and tending to confirm it. Generally, in criminal cases essential facts must be proved by the evidence of more than one witness; documentary or physical evidence may be used to provide corroboration.
Before 1983 it was required that someone alleging sexual assault have someone corroborate, or back up their claim; no longer required.
Additional evidence (sometimes in the form of a witness) of a point beyond what is offered by the person asserting the point.
