Definitions for "Conservation areas"
No building development, or demolition of property, is allowed within a conservation area.
An area designated under the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997 as being of special architectural or historic interest.
locally defined areas of special architectural historic significance worthy of protection and enhancement. Within such areas there are strengthened controls over demolition, minor development and protection of trees.
Environmentally sensitive and valuable lands protected from any activity that would significantly alter their ecological integrity, balance, or character, except in cases of overriding public interest.
Lands which have unsuitable or nonrated soils, wetland vegetative species, are seasonally flooded and perform an environmental function, as described in the County's Comprehensive Policy Plan.
