The internal awareness a person has of specific events such as perceptions, mental images, memories, thoughts (including any "dreams", once they are remembered). This internal reality can be known by another person only by believing the person's "introspections" and/or by inferring it from his or her behavior. (Contrasts with "unconscious".)
