Concordia or Konkordiaplatz is the name of an important glacial confluence in the Bernese Oberland, one of the highest sections of the Swiss Alps. At Concordia, the Aletschfirn, the Jungfraufirn, and the Ewigschneefäld, flowing from various high peaks of the Oberland, join to form the Aletschgletscher, or Aletsch Glacier, one of the most important glaciers of the Alps.
In Roman mythology, Concordia was the goddess of agreement, understanding, and marital harmony. Her oldest temple was on the Forum Romanum. It was built in 367 BC by Marcus Furius Camillus.
The S.V. Concordia is a tall ship owned by West Island College. The Concordia is a 57.5m (188ft.) steel Barquentine designed, built, and used for the West Island College Class Afloat program.
